Formatting Your Didit Descriptions
Make your requests crystal clear with simple formatting. The description field supports quick formatting shortcuts that help you organize information, highlight key details, and create checklists—all without leaving your keyboard.
How It Works
Type these shortcuts directly in the description field. The formatting applies automatically as you type.

Headings help organize longer descriptions into sections:
# Heading 1for main sections## Heading 2for subsections### Heading 3for smaller divisions
Bold text emphasizes important information. Wrap your text with asterisks: *important* becomes important
Italic text adds subtle emphasis. Wrap your text with underscores: _note_ becomes note
Strikethrough marks completed items or outdated information. Wrap text with tildes: ~done~ becomes done
Blockquotes highlight instructions or key messages. Start the line with a greater-than symbol: > This is important appears indented and styled
Ordered lists create numbered steps:
1. First step 2. Second step 3. Third step
Unordered lists create bullet points. Start each line with a dash: - Item
Checklists let you break requests into trackable subtasks: [] Item creates a checkbox that recipients can check off
Inline code highlights technical terms or commands. Wrap with backticks: `filename.txt`
Horizontal rules create visual separation between sections: ---
Tips for Clear Requests
Use headings to separate background information from the actual request. Bold the most critical deadlines or requirements. Checklists work great when you need multiple deliverables completed as part of a single Didit—recipients can check items off as they finish each one.
