Adding and Managing Contacts
Didit makes it easy to build your contact list so you can quickly assign tasks and add watchers. How you add contacts depends on whether you're using the mobile app or desktop.
Adding Contacts on Mobile
The mobile app gives you seamless access to your phone's contacts without bulk importing them all at once.
When you create a Didit and start typing a name in the assignee or watcher field, you'll see two types of suggestions: contacts you've already added to Didit, and contacts from your phone. Phone contacts appear with a person+ icon next to their name.
Selecting a phone contact does two things: it adds them as the assignee or watcher for that Didit, and it adds them to your Didit contacts list for future use. If someone in your phone has multiple email addresses, they'll appear as separate entries—one for each email.
Why it works this way: Many people have both work and personal Didit accounts but keep all their contacts mixed together on their phone. Rather than importing hundreds of contacts that might not belong in a particular account, Didit lets you add contacts one at a time as you actually need them. Your work account stays professional, your personal account stays personal.
Troubleshooting: If you don't see your phone contacts appearing as suggestions, check that Didit has contact permissions. On iOS, go to Settings > Apps > Didit > Contacts and select Full Access. On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Didit > Permissions and enable Contacts. Also make sure the contact you're looking for has an email address—contacts without email addresses won't appear since Didit needs an email to send requests.
Adding Contacts on Desktop
On desktop, add contacts manually through the Contacts section in your navigation. Enter their name and email address to save them to your contact list.
Using Your Contacts
Once contacts are in Didit, they appear as suggestions whenever you type in the assignee or watcher fields. Start typing any part of their name and Didit will show matching results, letting you select quickly without entering full details each time.
